The True Costs of GenIV Nuclear Energy Are Being Censored

the true costs of geniv nuclear energy are being censored

In Part IV of this series (read the entire five part series that required more than two months of research here), I revealed how nuclear energy researcher Emblemsvag revealed absurd assumptions in calculating true Nuclear Energy costs to provide electricity, every bit as absurd as the Ruling Class’s assumptions in their national calculations in which they literally remove the largest contributors of increasing inflation rates from their inflation equation to “calculate” inflation rates. Emblemsvag further revealed that the Ruling Class compounds erroneous perceptions about the true cost efficiencies of nuclear energy globally by deliberately using the LCOE (Levelized Cost Of Energy) of US nuclear energy in all their discussions of nuclear energy costs, even though it uses many outdated assumptions in price calculations that lead to massively inflated costs, and even though it is nearly double the cost of nuclear energy in other nations.

However, such deliberate misinformation is necessary to keep global anti-nuclear energy sentiment high. For those that are reading this article and that lack a business background to understand the business terminology I used in Part IV of this series about The Truth of Nuclear Energy, let me put my analysis from Part IV in as simple terms as possible so everyone can understand the points I made about clear and deliberate deception forwarded by the Ruling Class about GenIV nuclear technologies. Assumption after assumption after assumption has been used in producing the most widely read articles in the world regarding cost comparisons for electricity production between conventional and GenIV nuclear power plants and other green energy and dirty energy sources. In almost all such reports, the analysts producing such reports used deliberately inaccurate assumptions to create higher than realistic costs for nuclear energy, and in some instance, used assumptions that were provable lies at the time they used such assumptions.

Furthermore, Emblemsvag stated that he believes capital costs for nuclear energy plants among the most widely disseminated LCOE cost comparisons to be highly exaggerated, as capital costs for nuclear power plants are highly dependent on (a) variable learning curves for the construction of different types of nuclear plants, (b) reactor sizes, (c) international collaborative efforts, (d) differing national regulatory issues, and so on.  This is precisely why I stated that “might never makes right”, especially in the massively deceptive world of investing. Just because one has read a dozen articles that all use biased and incorrect LCOE estimates in cost comparisons of various sources of Green Energy electricity costs does not mean that these costs are correct. And I doubt that some of the loudest voices in this arena, like Greta Thunberg, actually understand the false narratives about cost comparisons that are being spread today.

In America, a focus on smaller modular reactors and a lack of nuclear plant design uniformity have ramped up costs for nuclear energy over conventional size nuclear reactors and are not representative of the massive positive impact GenIV nuclear energy technology can have in truly decreasing energy costs.  A number of researchers that have tried to get a handle on the accuracy of the LCOE estimates for future generation nuclear reactors have concluded that next generation nuclear energy technology like MSRs (Molten Salt Reactors), LFTRs (Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactors) and TMSRs are likely to have their cost estimates calculated by cost-scaling assumptions about nuclear reactors that are inherently wrong, thus highly clouding understating of the real electricity cost savings provided by GenIV nuclear energy technology.

Emblemsvag’s cost estimate comparison for TMSRs (Thorium Molten Salt Reactors), compared to Coal Fired Plants and Pressurized Water Reactors (Light Water Reactors are a type of PWR) for 2020, are as follows: $0.0575/KWh for TMSRs, $0.0615/KWh for PWRs and $0.0627/KWh for coal (Not that LWRs are a type of PWR or Pressurized Water Reactor). The important takeaway points from Emblemsvag's analysis is that his cost comparisons yield a cheaper cost per KWh (Kilowatt hour) for a 1000 MWe (Megawatts electric) TMSR nuclear plant over conventional nuclear power plants. As advanced LWRs today have an electric output capacity of up to 1600-1700 MWe, however, I would expect even greater cost savings than represented above as larger-scale commercial sized TMSRs are manufactured. For those that aren’t familiar with the terminology I’ve been using, 1 Megawatt = 1000 Kilowatts or 1,000,000 watts and a KWh, or kilowatt hour, is the cost to provide 1000 watts of energy for one hour.

Lastly, costs often used by global agencies to compare KWh electricity costs between nuclear energy and other green energy (hydro, solar, wind, etc.) and dirty energy (coal, natural gas, oil, wood, etc.) sources are highly disingenuous, as analysts that write articles that receive mass distribution often use US nuclear energy costs, which are rising, instead of nuclear energy costs per KWh in France or South Korea, which are falling.  Thus, one should realize, that like everything else in the investment world, much of the information spread far and wide is a racket of disinformation, the narratives of which are tightly controlled by the Ruling Class.  This article is part of a much more intensive five part series that took months to research and write.
