Former DNC Chairman: Democrats Need a Backup for Hillary Clinton
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Former Democratic National Committee (DNC) chairman Dan Fowler is calling on his party to prepare a backup for Hillary Clinton as she battles visible health problems.
“Now is the time for all good political leaders to come to the aid of their party,” Fowler said. “I think the plan should be developed by 6 o’clock this afternoon.”
Fowler is a Hillary Clinton supporter and served as DNC chairman during President Bill Clinton’s presidency, including during his re-election year. Even though Democrats missed his six o’clock deadline, the prospect of replacing Clinton still looms over the race.
“It’s something you would be a fool not to prepare for,” Fowler said.
“She better get well before she gets back out there because if she gets back out there too soon, it might happen again,” Fowler said.
Left-wing journalist David Shuster reported that some Democrats are considering holding a DNC meeting to evaluate whether or not Clinton should or could be replaced.
