Pollyanna Stockholders May Soon Get Rude Inflation Awakening

A record number of retail stockholders believe equities will be higher in the next 12 months, according to the Conference Board. But unless rates go lower, they might find themselves disappointed.

The Conference Board’s Consumer Confidence survey polls respondents on stock prices and rates. The percentage of people expecting higher stocks in a year is at a series high (both absolutely, and versus those expecting lower prices).
